Missioners
Missioners are a group of highly committed clergy and laypeople who are active advocates for the American Friends within their home area. Missioners are committed to speaking and encouraging their parishes, deaneries, diocese and
local communities to support the work of the American Friends. We invite people to join this team. You will receive a monthly e-mail newsletter of ideas and encouragement. No fund-raising is required.

The Ministry Of Missioners

Missioners are clergy and laypeople who are committed to the life and ministry of the Holy Land and the Episcopal Diocese of Jerusalem. Missioners support this work through the American Friends of the Episcopal Diocese of Jerusalem or AFEDJ.
These are the ways that a Missioner engages in this important work:
  • A Missioner raises awareness of Palestinian Christians by telling the story of these struggling people, the ministry of the Diocese of Jerusalem and the institutions that provide humanitarian aid, to individuals and groups in her/his diocese, parish or local community.
  • A Missioner encourages individuals and groups to make a tangible connection with the Episcopal Diocese of Jerusalem either by making a financial contribution of whatever size, sending a specific gift that has requested through the AFEDJ, or by creating a "companionship" relationship with a parish or institution within the Diocese of Jerusalem.
  • A Missioner strengthens the AFEDJ and the circle of missioners by forwarding names of interested individuals, potential donors or potential Missioners to the AFEDJ Administrator contributing to the AFEDJ newsletter, and/or joining a speakers' bureau.
  • A Missioner visits the Diocese of Jerusalem if possible to experience first hand the life and ministry of our Palestinian brothers and sisters.
  • A Missioner will call his/her faith community to pray for the work and ministry of the Episcopal Diocese of Jerusalem.
